Topic Ration planning tools for pigs and poultry in organic farming
Background The EU Horizon 2020 project OK-Net Ecofeed will develop new tools for farmers and advisers. Among others, ration planning tools for feeding pigs and poultry under organic conditions will be developed.

The EU project OK-Net EcoFeed will develop new tools for farmers and advisers. Among other things, ration planning tools for feeding pigs and poultry under organic conditions shall be developed.

In this thesis, ration planning tools will developed, enabling farmers to calculate their own feed rations for pigs, broilers and laying hens, independent from the feeding industry and adapted to organic farming conditions. The ration planning tools will take account of different nutritional needs, nutritional value of pasturing and roughage and nutritional value of organic raw material.

The ration planning tools will be made Excel based on French and Swiss feeding systems.
Methods ·         Develop database for organic feedstuff and requirements

·         Evaluate existing ration planning tools

·         Develop new or adapt existing tools for monogastrics
